1.Activity Target: This bilingual workshop on medicinal plant ecology integrates classroom learning with outdoor exploration to enhance students’ English communication skills in the field of medicinal botany. Through a series of engaging activities—including a bilingual knowledge session, guided field tours, ecological studies, and final presentations in English—participants will learn to describe plant features, functions, and applications in English. The program also emphasizes teamwork, hands-on learning, and professional communication, providing a unique opportunity to apply bilingual skills in real-world contexts. 2.Activity Content: This workshop aims to enhance participants’ English proficiency in the field of medicinal botany through bilingual learning, combining classroom instruction with field tours, ecological observation, and final presentations. The program is designed to strengthen both professional knowledge and English communication skills. Workshop Highlights: (1)Bilingual Knowledge Workshop on Medicinal Plants (April 24 & April 29) Participants will learn fundamental terminology related to medicinal plants and how to describe plant characteristics, functions, and applications in English. The sessions include bilingual practice activities to help students develop foundational teaching materials and lesson plans. (2)Bilingual Ecological Field Study at Dongshi Forest Garden (May 3) Through bilingual guided tours, students will explore the scientific names, key traits, and pharmacological properties of medicinal plants. On-site observation and note-taking will help deepen their understanding of each species. (3)Bilingual Ecological Field Study at Houfeng Bikeway (May 4) Participants will ride bicycles along the Houfeng Bikeway to explore the local ecosystem, learning to describe plants and natural surroundings in English. This outdoor experience offers insights into the natural habitats of various plant species. (4)English Presentation & Lesson Plan Review (May 6) Students will deliver group bilingual presentations to share their findings and reflections. Feedback from instructors will help refine their bilingual lesson plans, enhancing the overall effectiveness of future ecological education efforts. 3.
